These are about building knowledge + skills together - AF Collective will cover costs for training + skills development in areas that interest the young people we work with. Let us know any ideas or specific skills you want to learn! We’d love to plan a session around it.
-
(paid)
For those who want to dive into paid work with us - we will co-create together to spread the idea of accountability to young people. This could look like sharing knowledge, workshop ideas, and supporting projects, campaigns, and events.

Some opportunities only have a few spots. You can read about how we decide who gets them below:
We generally aim for a smaller group of young people, so we can ensure you are paid fairly, including for travel, preparation, + debriefing time. This also helps make sure the team can support everyone before, during, and after the opportunity. We also aim to create a balanced group of young people, with a mix of backgrounds, perspectives, and experience levels. We generally prioritise young people with lived experience of the systems and services the work is about, as well as young people who may not have had opportunities to do this kind of work before.
Some of the questions we ask when we are trying to create a balanced group are:
* How does this person add to the diversity of a group?
* Does this opportunity to connect to something this person really cares about, knows about, or wants to learn about?
* Would this opportunity be new and meaningful for this person?
You didn't get a spot this time? It's not a reflection on you. We aim to make room for as many different young people as we can. Keep putting your hand up! You can also reach out to us at hello@accountablefutures.org.au if you have questions about a specific decision or want to yarn about future opportunities.
